Shyan Selah is a Federal Way native whose family was part of the initial influx of African Americans to settle in the area in the 1970s. He’s a Singer-Songwriter and Multi-Genre Music Artist with over 15 years of producing, recording and performing Rock & Roll, Hip Hop, Soul, Blues, and Jazz music in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

He began his entertainment career in Hollywood being cast as an Actor and Model. Soon after he began to emerge as recording and performing artist with appearances on MTV, The WB, ESPN, BET, FOX and others. As an Artist Shyan has shared the stage and worked with many world famous talents from all genres of music such as Robin Thicke, Seal, and Ludacris to name a few. As an entrepreneur he’s launched BRAVE NEW WORLD, featuring a record label, music and film production, marketing, and management divisions while integrating a unique niche in progressive outreach for youth.

As a result, Shyan’s been recognized and awarded by Federal Way Public Schools over the last two years due to community and school outreach programs stemming from his current music project, Cafe Noir, which is presented in conjunction with Starbucks throughout the country.
